who brightly colours…?

Who brightly colours our dull dreams,

consecrates tints in nature’s seams?

Count colours, all shades and hues:

energy to invigorate me and you.

Pantone palette, vividness assigned,

colour wheel, delight-designed:

chromatic variations, created surprise,

critically curated by hungry eyes.

Who can count all colours – let them begin,

tabulate multiple shades, kith and kin.

Skin tones differ, distinct each tribe,

certain colours censored, easily proscribed.

Creator proclaimed: let there be light

moon and stars shine: romantic night;

black-tarred-zoo floats on storm deluge:

boat-bound dove, kind rainbow refuge.
